Dawn is a Fine Artist, Illustrator and a Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher. She also teaches art in a holistic capacity and is soon to launch s on-line art courses. She has been creative from a very young age, having drawn, painted, sewn and crafted since childhood. Some of her earliest memories are sewing fabric scraps and creating dolls clothes, with her late mothers old sewing machine.

Her working career began in local government until, in 2003, she was able to leave and enrolled onto an Access course in Art and Design at a local college. She then went on to study Surface Pattern Design and eventually attained a Degree in Fine Art.

Property renovation has been another passion and in 2014, Dawn and her husband aquired a dilapidated listed rural farmhouse in Teesdale, County Durham which they have lovingly restored over the past decade. Dawn is now fortunate to have a wonderful home studio where she creates her artworks, teaches art and sees her Reiki clients. The house is surrounded by stunning open countryside and this is a huge influence on her work.

A love of nature, wild flora and fauna, big open skies and the rugged landscapes surrounding her home are her inspiration for much of her art. Dawn is deeply spiritual and Reiki healing is integral to her art making practice. An intense love of colour and texture is used to create her popular uplifting and powerful artworks.

Primarily a painter, she uses mixed media techniques which she teaches during her healing art sessions. Dawn hosts both groups and individuals by appointment at her home studio and occasionally at local venues. Currently, she is working on a series of childrens books which she is writing and illustrating. Her online facebook group "The Creative Sanctuary" is a sacred space for women who wish to connect on a spiritual level. Her popular art journalling course will begin again in autumn 2024.
